How to download results

Introduction

Once your case has finished, our software will automatically push the results back to the platform. When this happens, you'll get an email notifying you.
The platform is equipped with a post-processing function, which allows you to visualize the results. Clicking on your finished case will redirect you to the 'Case Summary'-tab. In this tab, you have an overview of all the relevant data, for example: temperatures, notes, ...
There are also four other tabs available to you, the 'Thermal network'-tab, 'Design evolution'-tab, 'Result'-tab, and the 'history'-tab.

The 'Thermal network'-tab presents the results as a 1D approximation of your model. Highlighting the average temperatures of each entity as well the amount of heat that passes from one entity to the other (and how easily it can do so).

The 'Design evolution'-tab presents all the different optimization results to you. ColdStream outputs multiple designs during an optimization run, this tab showcases how a change in design affects the performance.

The 'Result'-tabs show all the key performance data in either table format, chart format, or by visualizing the results in 3D.

The 'history'-tab summarizes what happened to the case in question in chronological order. You can see who changed the input, and who downloaded what results, ...

Please navigate to their respective pages if you want to know more about these different tabs.

If you have a more specific post-processing functionality in mind, you can download your results. The following chapters go more in-depth into what can be downloaded from ColdStream.

Download results

In the top right corner of every finished case, you'll find the 'Download Results'-button. When you press this button, a few options become available to you:

  1. You can download a zip folder with all the simulation results in it. You can use Paraview for instance to perform more specific post-processing commands. This feature is available for both simulation and optimization cases (only if the CFD resolutions have been chosen).
  2. Secondly, you can also use the PyFluent connection to run the iteration in question in Ansys Fluent. ColdStream will make a Python script available as well as all the required geometrical files. One simply needs to run the Python script to automatically start up Fluent in meshing mode which will execute the default meshing steps.
  3. ColdStream also allows you to output the key performance data in CSV and JSON formats.

For finished optimization cases, there is another button available to you in the top right corner. When you press the 'Download Design'-button, you have a choice in which file format you would like to extract the optimized geometry:

  1. Step
  2. Obj
  3. 3mf
  4. STL

When selecting one of these options, a zip file with the optimized design(s) will be downloaded into your downloads folder.
