A general introduction to the utilities tab

The Utilities section provides standalone calculation tools designed to streamline the thermal engineering workflow without requiring a full, computationally expensive simulation run. These tools deliver rapid, data-driven insights to help inform boundary condition setup, material selection, and early-stage feasibility checks.

• Properties Calculator: Extracts exact material properties (such as density, dynamic viscosity, or thermal conductivity) at any given temperature, directly utilizing the temperature-dependent functions and data tables from your configured material libraries.
• Thermal Resistance Calculator: Evaluates the overarching thermal resistance required for a baseline heat sink based on specific power loads, ambient temperatures, and maximum junction constraints. It includes progressive refinement levels to account for thermal interface materials (TIM) and internal junction-to-case resistance.
